In Wales, the spectre of a “white enclave” worries the British press

A land-buying collective in Wales, led by a neo-fascist activist, is reportedly seeking to create white-only communities built on the fringes of the democratic system. A symptom, the press warns, of the renewed vitality of the far right amid growing anti-immigrant sentiment.
“We need our own land, our own buildings, our own conference centers, our own schools, our own rules. We need our own corners for our own culture. And it’s up to us to start building them.” In October 2024, reports The Times , Simon Birkett outlined his vision for the future at the annual conference of the Patriotic Alternative group, “one of the UK’s largest far-right organizations, whose leader is an Adolf Hitler worshipper.” Less than a year later, the owner of a tattoo parlor in southwest England appears poised to put his plan into action.
